Changing Landscapes – Ruins of the North Pennines is my second zine, following on from Transporter. For those who don’t know, a zine is a mini magazine, usually focused on one subject, and it’s a great way for photographers to be able to get work out to you.
I’ve been documenting the North Pennines obsessively for most of the last decade. After my first couple of ruins, I was hooked, buying old ordnance survey maps to see if I could work out where buildings, vehicles, or structures were likely to be. Putting some of these images together as a formal project has been a long time coming. There’s enough material (which of course, I’m still generating) for several publications, so it was a hard task to narrow it down to the images on these 40 pages. I hope you enjoy the ones I’ve chosen.
You can read more on how the project came to be, on my Substack.
